About The Position

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Position Overview We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Signal Processing Intern to join our team for the 2026 Summer Internship Program supporting the AST SpaceMobile Defense team in Radar analysis tool development, automated analysis scripts, signal processing technique development, test development and execution, and test data analysis.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical field.
  • Senior year (final year) standing preferred.
  • Coursework or project experience with RF testing, RF signal processing, digital beamforming, RF communications, or radar systems
  • Experience with RF testing in a laboratory environment with RF test equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Analytical mindset with interest in process optimization.
  • Effective communication and teamwork across functions.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a lab environment and safely handle hardware and materials

Responsibilities

  • Support Radar SME development efforts in the lab for test development, documentation, and analysis
  • Work with Radar SME team to develop signal processing analysis tools and automated analysis scripts and reports
  • Develop Radar signal processing tools for new radar functions
  • Document lab set ups and test analysis and reports
  • Cross Functional work and collaboration with Communications team
