About The Position

This position supports the department or by performing assigned tasks and assisting with projects, allowing the intern to gain an overall understanding of the business function. Interns will learn how to deploy, support, maintain, and troubleshoot computers and other technical devices. The incumbent will gain exposure to a subset of the knowledge required within the support specialty area. This role requires additional guidance, training, and supervision to become fully proficient. The position is overseen by more senior technical contributors, including associate, staff, senior, and consultant-level professionals.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware such as PCs, monitors, keyboards, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and follow direction in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong customer service focus and attention to detail
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills (email, internet, and common office programs)
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and technology
  • Ability to follow instructions and ask questions when needed
  • Friendly, professional communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and help others

Nice To Haves

  • Student or recent student in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Completed or working towards certification in CompTIA A+ or CompTIA N+ (Network +)

Responsibilities

  • Learn to resolve basic computer issues under the guidance of team members
  • Document issues and resolutions in the IT ticketing system
  • Provide updates to support staff on the status of tasks, requests, and projects
  • Respond to messages and requests based on assigned priorities
  • Learn to support new and existing systems while gaining exposure to changing technologies
  • Follow established hardware and software security policies with team guidance
  • Work with team members to complete tasks and support team goals
  • Gain an understanding of the department’s and facility’s operations
  • Assist with various projects that support department needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
