Do you have a passion in building a career in procurement? We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team this summer dedicated to this function. As a Buyer, you will be the primary category point of contact for supplier interactions, performance management, and negotiations for the site. As a Direct Materials Buyer Intern, you will be responsible for validating strategies with Global and Regional Category Managers/s and the respective internal partners and customers . You will be conducting strategic sourcing initiatives, plan and implement negotiations using supplier and industry analysis, benchmark and cost management. Through management of the category strategy, you will also be building trusted partnerships with internal customers, driving best-in-class , cost, supply and resilien ce.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
• Cannot graduate prior to September 2026.
• Strong negotiating and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Category Management & Strategic Sourcing: Implement processes to monitor stakeholder satisfaction with key suppliers .
• Recommend targets to enhance value such as high revenue, spend reduction, purchasing efficiency, customer services and supplier management .
• Analyze sourcing trends and make recommendations for assigned categories .
• Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal-setting .
• Develop category strategies for managed categories and validate strategies with Global and Regional Category Managers/s and internal partners.
• Cost Management & Analysis: Identify and evaluate category-specific savings/revenue levers.
• Drive category savings/revenue and scorecard metric targets.
• Provide market intelligence and category price trends to relevant internal stakeholders .
• Apply should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace
• Negotiation : Lead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, transfers, etc.
• Lead sourcing events/RFQ process into bundled negotiation.
• Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations.
• Develop a contract strategy for suppliers in assigned categories and create, negotiate, monitor and enforce contracted terms and conditions.
• Conduct strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiations, and cost management using supplier and industry analysis.
• Business Partnering: Collaborate with Team members to Deliver Strategic Solutions.
• Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned spend categories through relationships with key customers.
• Drive customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement.
• Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships to enhance cost-effectiveness , supply chain efficiency, and resilience.
