About The Position

MidAmerican Energy Company is seeking a student pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in data science, computer science, economics, statistics, logistics, supply chain, business analytics, or related field of study, graduating later than August 2026. The position is temporary, nonexempt, and part-time/hourly.

Requirements

  • Must be a college student, junior or higher standing, currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree or higher program in data science, computer science, economics, statistics, business analytics, or related field of study.
  • Must be available through the Summer 2026 with the opportunity to continue internship into the academic school year.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Windows operating environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and customer relationship skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Taken coursework in data analytics, machine learning, statistics, or computational mathematics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate and present advanced analytics model results and project outcomes.
  • Respond to and improve from feedback from internal business groups and team members. Strive for continuous improvement and personal growth.
  • Use Microsoft Office for team collaboration, meetings, project organization, and planning.
  • Provide day to day support to project managers and project specialists with sourcing both substation and transmission material. This may include reaching out to vendors to obtain quotes and requesting material orders with support of the project manager.
  • Develop and maintain commonly ordered project material repository
  • Responsible for material replacement project management, including funding approval submittals, milestone tracking, and working with project specialists on material orders
  • Assist with logistics planning, order tracking and improvement processes.
  • Perform data collection, spreadsheet creation and spend analysis
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives within the supply chain function. Support projects aimed at enhancing planning efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support project management efforts by tracking tasks, updating progress and coordinating timelines.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
