Intern, Data Science and Analytics

BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc.
4d$24 - $32Hybrid

About The Position

The BioMarin Summer Internship Program will enable students to gain valuable experience and knowledge of the processes and systems within BioMarin, while gaining an insight into the pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Over the course of 10 - 12 weeks our interns gain industry experience while working alongside our talented team on meaningful projects. The TDS Data Science & Analytics team enables Technical Operations (TOPS) to make data-driven decisions by integrating data across labs and manufacturing sites and applying advanced analytics. We combine technical capability, process knowledge, and tools to deliver descriptive, predictive, and increasingly agentic AI-driven insights for process monitoring, deviation analysis, optimization, and strategic planning. This internship focuses on building intelligent, autonomous systems that enhance data accessibility and decision-making for scientists and engineers. You will work on projects that reduce manual data tasks, improve automation, and explore agentic AI approaches to streamline workflows and enable proactive insights. Sample Projects Develop AI agents to automate data ingestion, cleaning, and transformation from lab instruments and integrate with analytical platforms. Implement multi-agent workflows for predictive modeling and anomaly detection in manufacturing processes. Build intelligent assistants for scientists using NLP and LLM-based tools to summarize deviations, extract insights, and recommend actions. Enhance end-user experience by creating adaptive dashboards and self-service analytics powered by AI.
