Our program takes place from June–August and lasts 10– 12 weeks . Position Overview The Data Engineering Intern will join Invenergy’s Enterprise Analytics & AI (EAAI) team, which builds the data and AI infrastructure that powers analytics across Invenergy’s business units. As a Data Engineering Intern, you will help design, build, and optimize data pipelines and workflows that enable our data scientists and business users to turn raw data into insights. You’ll gain hands-on experience with modern data technologies, contribute to real projects supporting renewable energy development, and learn best practices in data engineering at an enterprise scale.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining data pipelines to ingest, transform, and prepare data for analytics and AI use cases.
  • Work with structured and unstructured datasets from systems across Invenergy’s wind, solar, storage, and corporate operations.
  • Support automation and process improvement by building repeatable workflows and scripts.
  • Collaborate with data scientists , data visualization specialists, and business stakeholders to ensure data quality, accessibility, and consistency.
  • Learn and apply data governance, version control, and best practices for secure data management.
  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Expected graduation date between Fall 202 6 and Summer 202 7 .
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future .
  • Coursework or experience with SQL, Databases and Python .
  • Familiarity with data processing or ETL concepts .
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Interest in working in the renewable energy industry and learning about enterprise-scale data systems.
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with Databricks environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and Integration tools
  • Understanding of APIs and basic data integration concepts.
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as GitHub.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning about data architecture, AI and m achine learning .
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Interns may be eligible to contribute to a 401k.
