As an Intern in Data Analytics and Business Intelligence at New York Air Brake, you will gain a real-world understanding of data warehousing using an enterprise-level fact and dimensional model. You will be exposed to MS SQL development, design, and performance tuning, while developing strong professional connections with our Business Intelligence Developers and BI Analysts team. The role involves participating in a collaborative and innovative team-oriented environment employing Agile methodologies, building dynamic visualizations and dashboards using Power BI or Qlik, and using Snowflake to extract large volumes of data from multiple sources. You will apply your working knowledge of business concepts to create analytical applications and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.

  • Currently studying to pursue an undergraduate degree in Data Analytics, Information Science, Computer Science, or a comparable field.
  • Basic understanding of SQL.
  • Basic understanding of interactive data visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake.
  • Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Ambitious and passionate about technology and data.
  • Enthusiastic, optimistic, focused, and motivated to learn.
  • Knowledge/understanding of property descriptions.
  • Basic knowledge of quantitative methods/statistical procedures and graphic skills.
  • Strong communication proficiency.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Effective time management.
  • Internship experience preferred, but not required.
  • Currently enrolled in a college program of relevance.
  • Anticipated wage scale of $18.00 to $24.00 per hour, depending on class year.
