About Our Internship Program: Throughout your internship, you will have regular events, weekly lunch and learn sessions, and receive customized training from our business units. The interns will gain first-hand exposure to Stanley Black & Decker and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network. Interns are expected to adapt to change and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, and confidence. Interns must be team-oriented and collaborative. Position Overview: We are looking for a Data Analyst Intern to join our team for the summer. The intern will play a crucial role in developing and implementing a materials database that will serve as a central repository for all materials-related data across the enterprise. This project aims to improve data accessibility, accuracy, and efficiency in materials management.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree or a recent graduate in Data Science / Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and contribute to a dynamic project.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand requirements for the materials database.
  • Assist in the design and development of the database structure, ensuring it meets the needs of various stakeholders.
  • Collect, clean, and organize data from multiple sources to populate the database.
  • Develop data validation and quality assurance processes to ensure data integrity.
  • Create user-friendly dashboards and reports to facilitate data access and analysis for end-users.
  • Document database processes, structures, and user guidelines for future reference.
  • Provide support and training to team members on how to use the database effectively.
  • Participate in regular project meetings and provide updates on progress and challenges.
