About The Position

The American Bankers Association (ABA) is seeking interns for a paid opportunity to work with one of the biggest trade associations in Washington, DC. This internship runs from June 1, 2026, to August 7, 2026, and offers a chance for students to engage in substantial work across various divisions of ABA, connect with leadership, build a network, and make a difference in the banking industry. Interns will be compensated at a rate of $25/hour for undergraduate students and $30/hour for graduate students, working full-time at 37.5 hours per week. This role is designed for rising Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, or graduate students majoring in fields such as Cybersecurity, Risk Management, or Liberal Arts.

Requirements

  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Strong interest in cybersecurity, regulation, and operational risk.
  • Ability to report to ABA headquarters in Washington, DC, at least two times per week.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on cybersecurity threats and trends, including emerging risks such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and cloud computing.
  • Support ABA committees and working groups with projects and deliverables, including developing agendas, creating surveys, and preparing summaries of meetings.
  • Assist in drafting comment letters on cybersecurity-related regulatory issues.
  • Assist in drafting articles about cyber and operational risk issues.
