About The Position

Achieving our goals starts with supporting yours. Grow your career, access top-tier health and wellness benefits, build lasting connections with your team and our customers, and travel the world using our extensive route network. Come join us to create what’s next. Let’s define tomorrow, together. Description At United, we offer internships, co-ops, and full-time opportunities for early career professionals. In any role, you’re a key member of our team, contributing to real projects that help move the business forward while gaining hands-on experience, growing your professional skill set, and connecting with industry leaders. You’ll also have a chance to build community through our employee-run Business Resource Groups, participate in industry conferences, and enjoy unlimited standby travel anywhere we fly. Are you ready to embark on a journey that combines your love for aviation with the critical aspect of safety? We are thrilled to introduce an internship experience that will take your passion for flying to new heights while contributing to the fundamental principles of operations safety. What to Expect: Interns are placed into either Safety Management Systems or Operations Safety Programs: Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Data – SMS guides our day-to-day operation to ensure we follow safety compliance, and safety standards and proactively identify hazards and risks. It is in place to help us guard against injuries, incidents, and accidents. Every employee plays a vital role in managing safety through our SMS, including our CEO and leadership team. Additionally, the intern will support Operations Safety on various initiatives such as: Analyze safety data in support of cross-divisional safety projects, such as our United Safety Hub project, an effort to transition to a modern and fully integrated Safety system, developing enhancements to existing safety frameworks and helping set new standards for our SMS program, partnering with teams to work through Safety metadata, and many other SMS and related data projects. A mentor will be assigned to everyone for personalized assistance and development. United values diverse experiences, and perspectives. We encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply. No Direct Path: This internship is designed solely to provide you with skill development and valuable work experience. This role will likely not convert to a full-time position at United at the conclusion of the internship.
