What we are looking for: The Yazaki Core Engineering Research team is seeking interns with coursework and projects in engineering design and programming and who want to put this knowledge into practice. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative environment with an interest in learning more about automotive electronics and sensors. The focus will be on problem solving and researching of ideas for new products, methods, or markets. In addition you will be involved in the operations of our Makerspace and planning for upcoming University Engagements.

Requirements

  • A foundation of knowledge in Engineering
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Pursuit of a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Enrolled in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

  • Bonus points for involvement in a hobby or engineering club where you design and build something

Responsibilities

  • Start with Given a research prompt
  • Understand and define the challenge and work together with a team on possible solutions
  • Evaluate and select a technical direction then develop a physical prototype
  • Support Operations of the Makerspace
