About The Position

Shawmut Design and Construction is seeking college students (rising Juniors and Seniors) for summer 2026 internships in Los Angeles. This internship provides advance consideration for Shawmut’s Construction Management Skills Training (CMST) program after graduation. The roles are hands-on and involve working closely with established project teams, offering a valuable introduction to the construction industry and Shawmut's culture. Requirements

• A rising Junior or Senior working towards a degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Mechanical Engineering, etc.
• Eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Assist in the day-to-day Project Management activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget (APM intern)
• Manage submittals and RFIs (APM intern)
• Track procurement and change order documentation (APM intern)
• Assist in project close out (APM intern)
• Work with Estimating and Preconstruction team to develop estimates and budgets for clients (Estimating intern)
• Work with subcontractors to ensure pricing and coverage for projects (Estimating intern)
• Assist in scope writing on a variety of trades (Estimating intern)
• Attend bid reviews with internal partners (Estimating intern)
• Work closely with a seasoned Superintendent on one of our local job sites (Field intern)
• Manage daily reports (Field intern)
• Assist in monitoring and enforcing site safety protocols (Field intern)
• Coordinate punch list activities (Field intern)
