Join our Technical Services/Controls Engineering team as 2026 summer intern, where you'll gain hands-on experience supporting electrical control systems, product development, and technical service operations. This internship is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields who are interested in learning how controls technology supports large-scale HVAC and industrial cooling solutions within a global manufacturing company.

  • Assist with reviewing and interpreting product specifications and bills of materials to ensure accuracy and alignment with engineering requirements.
  • Support the development and testing of control product solutions, including reviewing application limits, drafting documentation, and participating in product improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and sourcing teams to help qualify vendors, track compliance with electrical codes and standards, and maintain strong cross-functional communication.
  • Contribute to technical training and support materials, including product manuals, reference guides, and resources for both internal teams and external customers.
  • Gain exposure to new product introduction (NPI) processes, control system design, and customer-focused solutions that integrate with broader SPX product offerings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with various test equipment.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of structural engineering to projects.
