About The Position

We are currently accepting applications for an Internship to be based at our office in Somersworth, New Hampshire during the summer of 2026 for current students in a 2 or 4 year program in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering, construction management or related field. The selected candidate will work as a Construction Services Field and Laboratory Technician. This position involves field and laboratory testing of construction materials (soil, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, aggregate and other materials) associated with a variety of construction projects. Interns will have the opportunity to learn how to read and interpret construction specifications and plans, and to obtain related certifications for construction materials testing of concrete and soil. We anticipate the job will require working up to 40 hours or more per week during the summer months with the potential for part time work or a co-op in the Fall of 2026. Interns will also have the opportunity to work with our Geotechnical Engineering team conducting subsurface investigations with exploration drilling crews.

Requirements

  • Current college student in a relevant field (civil, geotechnical, structural engineering, construction management, etc.).
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • General understanding of computers and ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction specifications and plans.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills for compiling and calculating data.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with construction and/or engineering concepts.
