About The Position
J.H. Rudolph & Co., Inc., a CRH Company, is seeking a Construction Management Intern to join our team in Tell City, IN. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of construction management and other lines of business within the heavy construction industry. Interns will primarily focus on construction activities, providing them with a wealth of knowledge and rewarding learning experiences that will enhance their education and future career goals. The internship is designed to immerse students in real-world applications of their studies, allowing them to learn from experienced professionals in the field. Interns will engage in project management tasks, learning how to find, bid, and build heavy construction projects. They will work with current bidding software and assist in setting up contracts and sub-contracts. Collaboration with estimators, project managers, and construction crew foremen will be a key part of the role, providing insights into the operational side of construction management. Additionally, interns will spend time in asphalt plant operations, working alongside plant operators and yard crews. They will learn how to run scales and assist with general maintenance of the plant. In the Hot Mix Asphalt Lab, interns will assist in the mix design process and testing of hot mix asphalt, gaining valuable technical skills. The internship also includes time spent with construction crews, where interns will learn about job preparation and the use of various construction equipment. They will work with the Operations Manager and accounting on monthly projections, understand job costs, and review workload, providing a comprehensive view of business management in construction.
