The Computer Engineer Intern supports semiconductor and EDA design flows through software development and tool support. The role focuses on evaluating, developing, enhancing, and debugging in‑house and commercial EDA tools, with an emphasis on applying AI, machine learning, and LLM‑based agentic workflows to automate and optimize design processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science with circuits or VLSI coursework, or another relevant degree with proven related experience.
  • Graduation date not prior to September 1, 2026.
  • Strong programming fundamentals with in‑depth experience in Python.
  • Experience or strong interest in AI/ML frameworks and LLM‑based applications.
  • Good communication and problem‑solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Unix environments and shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with additional programming languages such as SKILL, C, C++, Java, Perl, or Lisp.
  • Knowledge of data engineering concepts and model deployment.
  • Exposure to LLM agentic development tools and frameworks such as Claude Code, ChromaDB, or MCP development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and debug CAD software, EDA tools, and automation flows supporting design, physical layout, and verification of CMOS integrated circuits.
  • Apply AI and machine learning techniques to improve EDA automation, predictive analytics, and design optimization.
  • Define and implement LLM‑based agentic workflows for intelligent tool orchestration, documentation generation, and design assistance.
  • Collaborate with design and process teams to integrate AI‑driven solutions into production design flows.
  • Provide documentation, training, and end‑user support for newly developed tools, flows, and methodologies.
