About The Position

Lanteris Space Systems is currently seeking a motivated engineering or materials science student to join our Composites Manufacturing team as a 2026 summer intern located in our Palo Alto CA facility. As the composites manufacturing intern, you will be offered opportunities to gain hands-on experience in advanced composite fabrication processes and tooling used in spacecraft structures. In this role you will support composite layup operations, assist with curing and quality inspection processes, help document manufacturing procedures, and work alongside experienced technicians and engineers to fabricate high-performance composite components for satellites and spacecraft.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with completion of 2 years or more, or currently enrolled in a master's degree program in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, materials science, manufacturing engineering, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated interest in hands-on manufacturing or materials work through coursework, projects, or prior experience

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in composite materials, manufacturing processes, or aerospace structures
  • Familiarity with composite materials (carbon fiber, fiberglass, resins) through coursework or projects
  • Group project experience, ability to collaborate with team members of different technical disciplines
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and attention to detail
  • Experience or interest in process improvement techniques
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or similar suite
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and follow safety protocols
