As a Compliance and Cybersecurity Intern, you will assist the team in ensuring the organization's systems and data meet regulatory standards and security best practices. This role provides hands-on experience in both compliance management and cybersecurity practices.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • No prior professional experience required, but any relevant coursework, certifications (such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP), or personal projects in cybersecurity or compliance are a plus.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, networking protocols, and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Familiarity with common security tools is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn about compliance frameworks, cybersecurity tools, and risk management practices in a hands-on, real-world environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Security Audits: Help review security policies and procedures to ensure they comply with regulations and industry standards.
  • Support Risk Assessments: Help assess risks related to cybersecurity and compliance, providing support in documenting findings.
  • Prepare Compliance Reports: Assist in gathering data and preparing reports for audits, compliance checks, and internal reviews.
  • Help Implement Security Measures: Support the implementation of security policies, procedures, and controls to protect sensitive data.
  • Research Regulatory Changes: Stay up-to-date on new cybersecurity laws, regulations, and industry best practices, providing insights as needed.
  • Assist with Incident Response: Help track security incidents and support response efforts, including gathering information for investigation.
  • May be accountable for other results and activities as assigned.
