About the position
The Intern/CoOp position in Information Technology/Computer Science at Consumers Energy offers current college students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various IT functions. Interns will work as part of a team to support internal clients through application development, networking infrastructure support, and compliance analysis. This role is designed to help students apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting while participating in networking events and company tours.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support for information technology aspects of internal clients' business.
- Assist in application/software development and networking infrastructure support.
- Conduct governance and compliance analysis.
- Help clients effectively utilize information technology resources.
- Participate in intern networking events and company tours.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 2.7 or higher required.
- Prior work experience or internship is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
- Knowledge of MS Outlook is ideal.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with computing devices and file servers.
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN and operating systems.
- Understanding of project management methodologies and principles.
- Experience with business applications, analysis, and design.
- Application development experience, particularly with SAP.
- Data analytics skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform.
