This internship position will support the Gathering and Processing Measurement Services organization in various capacities. The intern/co-op will play a role in enabling our business to make informed decisions, adapt to change, and continuously improve through data analysis and the application of advanced technological solutions. They will be involved in various learning and support activities, including Measurement Analytics and Measurement Applications. This position can be based either in Denver, Colorado or San Antonio, TX and the candidate will report directly to the Measurement Analytics & Applications Manager. They will also receive work instructions from team leaders within the department, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment.

  • Develop and compile periodic reports and data for domestic measurement compliance.
  • Coordinate compilation of information pertinent to hydrocarbon loss control.
  • Prepare system balances and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for management review.
  • Obtain and reconcile 3rd party statements and verify or approve measurement accounting system balances for final settlement statements.
  • Analyze hourly hydrocarbon data, identify measurement changes and impacts to the overall system gains or losses.
  • Track and resolve issues through field measurement software applications.
  • Assist with updating documentation used to ensure internal controls and provide suggestions on ways to improve efficiencies.
  • Problem-solve for complex problems that include technical/functional system issues.
  • Work collaboratively/directly with business owners and IT to understand, document and formalize detailed system requirements.
  • Work with business teams to clarify system capabilities, application requirements, testing, procedural needs, and priorities within the department.
  • Provide customer support and technical troubleshooting of all applications.
  • Offer innovative alternatives to meet measurement/business requirements; coordinate with IT to ensure measurement end-user system requirements and reports function as designed.
  • Create graphs, charts, or other visualizations to convey the results of data analysis using specialized software.
  • Identify business problems or management objectives that can be addressed through data analysis.
  • Recommend data-driven solutions to key stakeholders.
  • Identify solutions to business problems using the results of data analysis.
  • Write new functions or applications in programming languages to conduct analyses.
  • Analyze, manipulate, or process large sets of data.
  • Perform validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy, and reformulate models, as necessary.
  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Data Science, Accounting, Business Administration, or Mathematics.
  • Strong academic performance.
  • Experience with business intelligence and data analysis software.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Military experience a plus.
  • Concurrent enrollment in a degree seeking program.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and PowerBI is preferred.
