The Cloud FinOps Intern is responsible for supporting and advancing the organization's cloud financial management practices. This role focuses on analyzing cloud costs, developing insightful reporting, and driving initiatives to optimize cloud spend across AWS and Azure environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background with experience in cloud cost management and a passion for continuous improvement in FinOps maturity.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Science or related field
• Intern level experience with 0-6 months of relevant project, course work or prior internship experience
• Interest in cloud computing, financial analysis, or data analytics.
• Strong Excel/Sheets and data manipulation skills.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and articulate insights.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.
• Remote based in or driving distance of a local office: Denver, CO; St Petersburg, FL; NY, NY; Plymouth Meeting, PA; Overland Park, KS; Houston, TX; Atlanta, GA

Responsibilities

• Assist in monthly AWS/Azure cost analysis, including variance, trending, and identifying cost drivers and anomalies.
• Build and maintain dashboards to summarize cloud spend, providing clear visibility for leadership.
• Support the development and refinement of forecasting models for 2026 cloud spend across production and non-production environments.
• Support initiatives to optimize commitment programs, such as Savings Plans and Reserved Instances.
• Assist in the development of chargeback and showback models for cost accountability.
• Contribute to product-level cost allocation and reporting efforts.
• Help design and maintain executive dashboards and KPI scorecards to track FinOps progress.
