About The Position

The Intern - Business Development learns directly from experienced Business Development professionals. This position provides assistance with the planning and execution of events, contributes to research and prospecting for new business, and helps retain current customers.

Requirements

• High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area.
• 7 to 11 months related experience and/or training.
• 1 to 6 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.

Nice To Haves

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business or Communications with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Classified as a junior or senior at an accredited four-year university.

Responsibilities

• Researches new business opportunities and assists in retaining existing business.
• Provides assistance with sponsorship and in-kind requests.
• Distributes marketing materials to prospects and customers.
• Manages marketing closet inventory.
• Purchases supplies and food for events.
• Sets up and tears down for events.
• The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
