About The Position

The Business Analytics Intern at Principal Asset Management will support the business management team by gathering and analyzing data to derive insights that inform decision-making. This role combines financial services with technology, focusing on transforming data into actionable frameworks and presenting findings to stakeholders. The internship is designed for students pursuing degrees in business analytics or related fields, offering both full-time summer work and part-time opportunities during the academic year.

Requirements

• Working towards a degree in business analytics, business, data analytics, or similar
• Will have completed junior year by summer of 2025
• Experience with business analytics in a professional setting
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
• Strong understanding and experience using data visualization tools including PowerBI and/or Tableau
• Prior internship experience

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with a consulting firm or in financial planning and analytics

Responsibilities

• Gather and extract data from public databases and/or data sources
• Transform data into an analytical framework like Excel or PowerBI
• Derive insights based on data
• Create and deliver presentations showcasing data findings
