About The Position

Assist in the development, design, build and testing robotic platforms from prototype through product commercialization. Creates an integrated autonomous interface, mobility, communication, and human-robot interaction. Works with cross-functional teams to understand opportunities for robotic applications. Additional Responsibilities Assists with the development and implementation of automation systems or components, Supporting or performing the program installation, testing, and maintenance of robots or automated components, Assists in the commissioning and deployment of new automation installations, conducts field trials to ensure appropriate operation, and prepares reports or records documenting actions or findings. Job Summary- Any intern or co-op working at a GD-OTS location. Responsibilities- Essential Functions: Provides support to technical employees working in an organizational function related to the Intern's area of study. Assists with technical tasks and project support. Supports equipment set up and monitors tests and experiments. Observes results, collects data, and compiles summaries and reports. Learns technical processes and procedures. Job shadows other more experienced professionals and or support staff. May also support the documentation & updates of procedures or work instructions. Handles basic issues and problems

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in related Technical courses or be within 6 months of graduation
  • No prior experience needed.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
  • This position is Safety-Sensitive.
