Department The Athlete Medical team supports the health, safety, and overall wellness of UFC athletes by helping manage medical processes that enable safe competition and training. Working closely with medical professionals, performance staff, and internal operations teams, the department supports medical clearances, injury reporting, and health protocols. Their focus is on ensuring athletes are medically prepared to compete while prioritizing long-term health and well-being. This team plays an essential role within the UFC organization by helping protect athletes and uphold the highest standards of care in professional sports.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in a related field such as Sports Management, Health Sciences, Kinesiology, or a similar discipline, or within six months of graduation; Junior or Senior standing preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Outgoing, friendly, and professional demeanor with strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Eager to learn, take initiative, and grow in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the process for athlete medical claims processing, including coordination between medical service providers and insurance companies.
  • Assist with tracking athlete injury reports, medical condition updates, and related claims information under staff supervision.
  • Support research efforts related to local trauma hospitals and EMT services in advance of UFC events.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining athlete medical files and records in accordance with confidentiality requirements.
  • Support scheduling and coordination of athlete medical appointments and help track updates related to injury status and licensure requirements.
  • Assist with updating internal databases with athlete medical record information, as directed.
  • Attend weigh-ins and occasional events to assist with coordination of medical support for athletes.
  • Learn and adhere to company confidentiality standards and HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
