The 2026 Summer program dates are May 18th – July 24th at our company facilities in Lakeland, FL. Over these 10 weeks, interns will work 40 hours a week participating in impactful departmental projects that connect classroom learning to real-world corporate experience. Position Overview The AP Analytics team provides critical support to designated business areas within Asset Protection by evaluating potential threats that could affect Publix retail locations, associates, customers, or the company’s financial performance. The team conducts thorough data analyses, develops and manages databases, and prepares comprehensive reports to inform decision-making processes.

Requirements

  • must be an actively enrolled student not graduating prior to the start of the Summer Internship Program in May; or if graduating from a bachelor's degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester; or if graduating from a master’s degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester)
  • must be pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Business, Criminology or related field and be a current sophomore or above (rising junior or above as of the program start in Summer 2026) or a graduate student
  • basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • ability to review and analyze trends within a data set
  • high level of maturity, discretion, tact and judgment, and the ability to deal with confidential information
  • ability to multitask
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • detailed orientation with strong organizational skills
  • knowledge of SharePoint and experience querying data
  • knowledge of SQL, PowerBi, or Data Search Engine
  • knowledge of Coding
  • knowledge of Data Search Engine

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current reports and conduct audience surveys to assess the ongoing relevance, utility, and necessity of the report.
  • Assess current reporting processes to identify opportunities for modernizing database architecture, reporting tools, and publication methods.
  • Update and optimize existing databases, reporting tools, and publication methods to enhance current processes.
