When you join Design Group as an Architecture Co-op or Intern , you join a team that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will join our Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Practice and work with a team of licensed architects, experienced designers, and subject matter experts to help the world’s leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You’ll learn how we deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to support multiple project tasks
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to work effectively with teammates, leaders, and project partners
  • A willingness to travel for project needs, including site visits and on‑site learning opportunities
  • Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Architecture or a related discipline

Nice To Haves

  • Internship, co‑op, academic, or project experience related to architecture, facility design, drafting, construction, or the built environment (preferred)
  • Familiarity with architectural design tools such as AutoCAD and/or Revit (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Junior or senior standing (preferred)
  • Interest in pursuing architectural licensure and continued professional development

Responsibilities

  • Support architectural design efforts for manufacturing, distribution, and industrial facilities under the guidance of licensed architects and senior designers
  • Assist with developing facility programs based on client requirements, operational needs, and applicable codes
  • Contribute to the creation of floor plans, base plans, code summaries, renderings, and schematic design sketches
  • Support coordination of architectural work across engineering disciplines within multi‑disciplinary project teams
  • Assist with researching building codes, zoning requirements, materials, and alternative construction methods
  • Help prepare design documentation and support plan development for permitting and construction
  • Participate in reviewing submittals, shop drawings, and responding to RFIs during pre‑construction and construction phases
  • Work with project teams in the office and occasionally on‑site to support design development, coordination, and implementation activities
  • Travel as needed to client sites to assist with site visits, design coordination, or project support
  • Make a day‑to‑day impact by contributing thoughtfully, conducting yourself with integrity, and strengthening relationships with clients and teammates
