THE OPPORTUNITY Silvus is seeking a full-time Intern - Applications Engineer I that will report to the Senior Applications Engineer on the Applications Engineering team. The successful individual in this role will conduct a wide range of technical activities relating to applications/solutions engineering and customer and sales support. This role will have a primary focus on a specific technical project related to upcoming Silvus products. The intern will be expected to help define and test new products and features, assist customers and the sales team with their technical support requests, perform technical analysis and systems integration duties, and engineer complete solutions to complex problems. This role will have a focus on a project related to hardware and software testing of the unreleased MAN-IQ EW feature on the StreamCaster Radio. This role works closely with internal engineering teams and provides in-person support. This is a full-time internship position that is fully onsite, Monday through Friday at Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles. Requirements

  • In-progress Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other related technical fields.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and effectively interact with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Familiarity with scripting – Python, C/C++.
  • Exposure to technical writing.
  • Proficiency with PC office applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with customers and the internal team.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
  • All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to wireless and radio communication systems, radio frequency signal propagation principles, and digital communication technologies.
  • Exposure to TCP/IP networking.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and effectively interact with cross-functional teams and customers.

  • Ability to multi-task and rapidly switch focus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, test, and evaluate technical solutions and new products/features.
  • Provide comprehensive support to customers and the sales team, including troubleshooting, system integration, product recommendations, and technical analysis.
  • Own and complete an intern project related to hardware and software testing of the unreleased MAN-IQ EW feature on the StreamCaster Radio.
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams for in-house or field testing, validation, and enhancing existing features.
  • Assist Sales Engineering with demos, training, testing, and issue resolution.
  • Create and maintain customer-facing documentation and content.
  • Guide RMA and Loaner teams with equipment recommendations and customer request vetting.
  • Occasional minimal travel may be required to support learning and understanding of job duties in field environments.
