About The Position

Ayar Labs, the global leader in optical I/O chiplets, is harnessing silicon photonics to revolutionize the scaling of AI compute hardware. Our Analog/Mixed Signal design team leads the effort in designing high-speed transmitter, receiver, and clocking circuits needed for next-generation IO technologies. We are looking for a motivated graduate intern to join the AMS design team. You will explore and design high speed TX/RX/Clocking circuits which push the boundaries of bandwidth, density, and power efficiency. Projects will be tailored to your experience, and you will be mentored by a senior engineer as you work alongside with Ayar Labs engineers to help drive the optical I/O revolution.

Requirements

  • Masters or ongoing PhD in electrical engineering, physics, or related field with a focus on circuit design
  • 1+ years of working/research experience in an electrical or optical IC application space
  • Familiarity with high-speed SerDes link design
  • Experience with analog/mixed signal design flows in Cadence Virtuoso
  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • Familiar with Linux/Unix and modern version control workflows (e.g. Git)
  • Ideal candidate is a highly-motivated student who is able to work collaboratively and independently, and can self-manage time effectively to take projects to completion.

Responsibilities
