About The Position

The Aggregate Project Engineer Intern will be given the opportunity to work with a vertically integrated company and experience multiple aspects of our aggregate mining business as well as other lines of business.

Requirements

  • Working towards a bachelor's degree in engineering from a college or accredited school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be proficient with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Working with key stakeholders to determine solutions to common issues.
  • Work with Project Management Team on monthly projections.
  • Learn the administrative requirements of the business through hands-on experience.
  • Learn the importance of taking detailed messages and timely communication.
  • Work with multiple departments on special projects as needed.
  • Assist Project Management team with ongoing and future Capital Projects, including report preparation, project forecasts, schedules, key milestones, and work quality in collaboration with other key stakeholders.
  • Assist Project Management team with improvement opportunities for document control (cost management, construction drawings, etc.).
  • Look for ways to deploy latest technology to improve efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
  • Shadow operations personnel to learn operational planning and aggregate objectives.
  • Learn objectives of aggregate sales by learning about various materials available in quarries and pits.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports required to be presented to Senior Leadership.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.
