About The Position

The Intern will support a fast paced, collaborative and results-driven Acquisitions team of seven. Responsibilities include preparing market analyses, researching comparable transactions, underwriting prospective investments, and maintaining the acquisition pipeline. The Acquisitions team identifies, evaluates, and executes the acquisition of core-plus and value-add retail, senior living, medical office, industrial, hotel, and office investments for The RMR Group, the investment advisor to Diversified Healthcare Trust (Nasdaq: DHC), Office Properties Income Trust (Nasdaq: OPI), Service Properties Trust (Nasdaq: SVC), Industrial Logistics Properties Trust (Nasdaq: ILPT) and Seven Hills Realty Trust (Nasdaq: SEVN).

Requirements

  • Availability to work in-person 40 hours per week.
  • Currently a junior or senior at an accredited college or university.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office product suite.
  • Enthusiastic, professional, resourceful, curious, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent organizational, research, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative, and results driven environment.
  • Not eligible for course credit.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of ARGUS Enterprise a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with market analyses, including trends, drivers, and performance; deliver actionable insights through demographic and comparable transaction research.
  • Develop and maintain financial models in ARGUS Enterprise and Microsoft Excel to evaluate investments in value-add shopping centers, single-tenant retail, and senior living properties.
  • Review and analyze offering memoranda, operating statements, and rent rolls to develop underwriting assumptions.
  • Support the execution of new investments by preparing investment committee materials, including investment memoranda and corresponding exhibits.
  • Assist with receipt and dissemination of transaction due diligence materials.
  • Assist with deal tracking by maintaining the acquisition pipeline.
  • Use ARGUS Enterprise and Yardi to prepare cash flow reports.

  • The estimated compensation range for this position is $23 to $28 per hour. RMR considers several components including an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market data.
