Landis+Gyr is seeking an Accounting Intern for Summer 2026 to work on-site fulltime hours Monday through Friday at our Alpharetta, GA location. This is a paid internship but we don't provide housing assistance or relocation so will be considering local applicants.   Project Overview: The Accounting Intern will play an essential role in supporting various accounting functions within our company. This internship offers broad exposure to general ledger maintenance, variance analysis, financial reporting, and other key accounting areas. The intern will experience firsthand how diverse accounting responsibilities can be, from handling day-to-day general accounting tasks to contributing to more complex processes such as deferred compensation, payroll, and the SAP S/4HANA conversion project.At the end of the summer, the intern will present a fun 10-15 minute overview introducing themselves, reviewing the tasks they handled, sharing what they learned, discussing their experience with the accounting team, and reflecting on how to apply these lessons in their future career.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be undergraduate students currently in their Sophomore or Junior year working on their Bachelors degree in Accounting.
  • Graduates and Masters level students will not be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in General Ledger Postings - Participate in journal entry postings and account reconciliations as part of general ledger maintenance.
  • Conduct Variance Analysis - Perform variance analysis during month-end closing, identifying and explaining financial discrepancies.
  • Exposure to Specialized Accounting Functions – Gain experience with tasks pertaining to prepaids, leases, warranty, deferred compensation, payroll entries, short-term incentive plan postings, etc.
  • Assist with SAP S/4HANA conversion functions and trial balance testing to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
