About Accounting and Finance The Tolmar Accounting and Finance team is responsible for providing financial planning, reporting and controls, short- and long-term business strategy, investments, hedging, mergers and acquisitions, cash management, internal risk management, auditing, and accounting so that Tolmar can operate strategically and efficiently. Proposed Work Description The Intern will support the Tolmar Accounting team and, using a fundamental knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, will perform a variety of accounting functions including:

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting software, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective organization and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Effective oral and written communication; and
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, management, vendors, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting or closely related program.
  • Have achieved an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with annual inventory of fixed assets including validating existence and location of assets at multiple Northern Colorado plant locations
  • Property, Plant and Equipment sub-ledger and reporting.
  • Maintaining internal financial and accounting controls.
  • Preparing monthly reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Researching transactions and other issues within the system to either resolve or get support to resolve.
  • Support data validation, comparison and analysis activities across accounting processes
  • Assist with processing and sending customer invoices
  • Other duties as assigned.
