XLR8 Truck Lines is seeking an experienced Intermodal Dispatcher to join their team at the Houston, TX Service Center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating freight shipments, managing driver assignments, and ensuring efficient delivery operations. This role requires a keen understanding of intermodal logistics, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years of intermodal dispatching experience is required.
• Familiarity with Houston ports and rails, including container sizes (20', 40', and 45').
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong geographical knowledge of Houston and the state of Texas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual candidates are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with customers to arrange freight shipments and delivery times, ensuring timely and accurate service.
• Determine driver capacity and review dispatch systems to assign drivers efficiently, ensuring all loads are dispatched promptly.
• Monitor SSL import and export containers, keeping accurate records of their status and locations.
• Assist drivers and keep co-workers informed of daily activities, addressing any issues that arise.
• Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the manager.
• Must be available for weekend work and on-call duties as needed.
