The Benton County Records & Elections Department is seeking on call clerks to join the team! This is a great opportunity to work in a modern office setting on the second floor of the Benton County Kalapuya Building which features ample free parking, next to paved trails that connect with surrounding natural areas and parks. Job Summary This position performs general clerical tasks in the Benton County Elections and Passports division. Assists internal and external customers in-person, by phone, and through electronic means. Responsible for data entry, proofing, accepting forms over the counter, cash handling, and answering phones and emails. We offer a great degree of work schedule flexibility in accordance with the successful candidate's availability. There are times of greater need to be present such as election cycles and seasonal workloads. Please note: This is an on-call position not to exceed 1040 hours in a fiscal year. This recruitment may be used to fill multiple vacancies. This recruitment may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates for future vacancies.   • 2 years of general office or clerical support experience
  • Ability to complete county-funded U.S. Passport Acceptance Training and/or notary public certification within the first month of employment
  • Experience in data entry, customer service & answering phones.
  • Familiarity and ability to operate office equipment.
  • Familiarity with customer service practices; computers and office equipment; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to obtain passport agent authorization and/or notary public certification as needed to perform assigned duties.
