The Slavic, East European, and Near Eastern Summer Language Institute (SLI) at the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, pending budgetary approval, seeks an Instructor of Intermediate Russian for the summer of 2026. The instructor will teach 6 weeks of intensive Russian during SLI's summer session, which begins on June 1, 2026. During the six weeks of teaching in the domestic program in Pittsburgh, classes will meet five days a week from 9 am to 2:50 pm. In addition to classroom teaching, instructors are expected to help plan and facilitate the cultural programming for the language program. Instructors will be asked to team teach. The Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences is committed to building and fostering a culturally diverse environment. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in support of a diverse community are required.
