About The Position

  • Required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Intermediate operations, ensuring students are adequately supervised at all times.
  • Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed, and that student growth and discipline are appropriate and equitable.
  • Develop and ensure a restorative student discipline management system that results in positive student behavior.
  • Conduct effective communications (conferences, phone calls, emails, etc.) with parents, students, and teachers on student and school issues.
  • Supervise reporting and monitoring of student attendance and work with administrative assistants on follow-up investigations.
  • Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences of all staff as an evaluator within the teacher appraisal system.
  • Help plan daily school activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activity schedules.
  • Work with lead teachers and faculty to compile annual budget requests based on documented program needs.
  • Collaborate with other LCS School Principals to ensure alignment across all LCS buildings.
  • Oversee the development of the budget for the Intermediate building.
  • Oversee the requisition of supplies, textbooks, and equipment; check inventory; maintain records; and verify receipts for materials.
  • Assist with safety inspections and safety-drill practice activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and the Lincoln Board of Education policy.
  • Oversee the process of PTO requests along with time-card updates and approvals.
  • Participate in professional development, corporate and self-guided, to improve skills related to job assignment and overall personal development.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of educational programs.
  • Encourage and support the development of innovative instructional programs, helping teachers pilot such efforts when appropriate.
  • Promote the use of technology in the teaching/learning process.
  • Deal sensitively and fairly with persons from all cultural backgrounds.
  • Innovate and lead in the development of campus improvement plans with all LCS stakeholders.
  • Develop, sustain, and maximize information systems for tracking campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators.
  • Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
  • Review applications and participate in interviews for potential new staff.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
