About The Position

Arquitectonica is an award-winning, design-focused architecture and planning firm with a worldwide practice of 500+ employees located in eleven offices. Our Miami Headquarters is seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer to join our team. As an Intermediate Interior Designer, you will Independently develop and coordinate interior design packages from concept through detailed design, interpreting and organizing assignments, and coordinating across disciplines. You will plan and design interior aspects of medium, large, or multiple projects contributing specialized knowledge in defined components of the work, from concept through documentation. This role requires strong attention to detail and effective collaboration with architects, clients, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality design solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and/ or Architecture is required
  • Expert level proficiency in Revit/BIM literacy
  • 4 - 8 years of experience, with demonstrated leadership delivering complex interior projects
  • Advanced communication, client management, and negotiation skills
  • Strong detailing and specification capabilities
  • Extensive knowledge of codes, accessibility, sustainability, and authority approvals
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Ability to work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure/Certification not required; NCIDQ/LEED/WELL in progress or interest encouraged.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local and global interior design industry

Responsibilities

  • Generate and develop architectural concepts for interiors, including furniture & equipment planning, floorplan studies, and integration with structural/MEP and visual design elements.
  • Lead design packages from schematic through detailed design.
  • Prepare and review Revit/CAD deliverables, 3D models, specs, and technical schedules.
  • Generate FF&E design and specifications, coordinate procurement with suppliers, and cost control with QS/procurement teams.
  • Organize, execute, and coordinate assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Work with consultants and contractors, following through into construction coordination.
  • Plan interior aspects of large or multi-project programs, developing appropriate concepts, approaches, and options.
  • Work in compliance with local codes, accessibility, sustainability targets, and project requirements.
  • Contribute to QA/QC reviews.
  • Mentor junior designers by providing guidance, feedback, and training to foster professional development and improve design quality.
  • Take ownership of small-to-medium projects or significant workstreams within larger projects, including tracking scope, schedule, and deliverables.
  • Provide specialty expertise (e.g., workplace planning, hospitality FF&E, retail guidelines, wayfinding coordination) as needed.
