The position involves producing accurate quantity and material take-offs by reviewing plans, specifications, and instructions for assigned areas for estimate preparation. The individual will enter quantity take-offs and material unit pricings as applicable to the project, applying the appropriate work breakdown structure (WBS). The role requires coordination of estimate material pricing from vendors and other sources, as well as developing pricing for basic project elements. The candidate will contact subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing and contribute to the preparation of key estimating deliverables. Additionally, the position supports conceptual estimating efforts within the department, including the development of basic models for review by senior personnel. The individual will also develop budgets and purchasing plans with minimal oversight from senior estimation staff, coordinate the flow of documents during estimate preparation, and provide administrative logging of estimates. Additional duties may be required as needed.
