About The Position

The position of Intermediate Enterprise and Systems Architect/Modeler is focused on supporting the architecture and modeling of critical complex defence systems within a Digital Engineering Modeling and Simulation (DEM&S) ecosystem for a major Canadian defence acquisition project. Working closely with the Department of National Defence (DND), this role involves creating comprehensive enterprise and system diagrams and models, managing requirements traceability, and conducting verification and validation activities. The successful candidate will apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques to develop architectural frameworks and modeling environments that support strategic decision-making and materiel management initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science; or Technologist diploma with professional experience in systems architecture and modeling.
  • Minimum 3 years systems engineering experience with demonstrated application of MBSE techniques, systems analysis tools, and experience with complex systems and systems-of-systems perspectives.
  • Proficiency in SysML, enterprise framework methodologies, or comparable modeling tools; experience architecting critical complex systems, preferably naval and marine platforms.
  • Ability to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance, which requires Canadian citizenship and continuous residence in Canada for at least the past 10 years.

Responsibilities

  • Develop enterprise and system diagrams and models for critical complex defence systems within the DEM&S ecosystem using SysML, enterprise framework methodologies, or equivalent approaches.
  • Create architectural representations describing critical systems, requirements, interfaces, mission scenarios, and use cases; manage requirements traceability and change impacts.
  • Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques; conduct verification and validation of requirements and system interfaces.
  • Work collaboratively with the Department of National Defence (DND) and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive system representation, architectural coherence, and integration with other DEM&S artifacts and tools.
  • Demonstrate a 100% commitment to our zero-harm behaviors in support of our goal to build a world-class safety culture.
