Together, we get the job done and done well. What you'll do: Fabricate, using aircraft specifications, cover and install flat panels and curtains. May sew simple covers using aircraft specifications. Safely perform aircraft interior removal, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors (which may include window shades, upholstery, service units, tables, seats, carpet, galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, and panels). Coordinate with supervisor and Inspection to ensure compliance with Repair Station procedures, internal and FAA paperwork, signoffs, and quality specifications. Mentor and train other Interior Installation Technicians as applicable. Review their work prior to sign off to ensure work complies with quality control standards. Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work. Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as hand tools, band saws, shears, sanders and brakes. Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools. Prepare and install aircraft interior items in accordance with company operation procedures and quality standards. Remove and re-install nut plates, inserts and other fasteners used in aircraft interiors. Apply proper use of hardware and fittings on aircraft installations. Comply with safety and housekeeping policies and use personal protective equipment as required. Address unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk. Advanced knowledge of aircraft installation and/or fabrication processes applicable to the specific position such as carpet surging, wood finishing, seat and table mechanism rigging, foam/adhesive build up, working with composite panels made from Nomex honeycomb, fiberglass, Lexan, acrylic materials, etc. Be responsible for removal and installation of aircraft interior parts under the direction of a properly certificated mechanic, lead, or crew chief. Also responsible not only to remove and install, but also to properly document each and every part by complying with F.A.A. regulations and Company quality standards. Be responsible for using sound judgment and technical aptitude to make decisions regarding aircraft completions. Customer satisfaction hinges upon sound decisions and expedient action on the part of the Installer. As customers are on site at the facilities, professional appearance and communication skills are required in order to create a positive and lasting professional relationship. Document all work accomplished (a.k.a. sign-off) in a clear, concise, and accurate manner. Responsible for knowing, understanding, following, promoting, and continuously improving company policies and procedures. Performs basic stripping operations of fabric from aircraft surfaces to prepare for remodeling and recovering. May perform other duties as required by the department.
