Interior Technician
About The Position
MHI RJ Aviation Group (MHIRJ) is the merging of two important heritages: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and the CRJ Series program. We provide comprehensive critical operational, engineering and customer support solutions including maintenance, refurbishment, technical publications, marketing and sales activities for the global regional aircraft industry. We’re hiring Interiors Technician to help drive our continued success! MHIRJ’s network of service centers, support offices and parts depots are positioned in important aviation hubs in the U.S. The Interiors Technician will install / refurbish / modify / aircraft interior equipment and furnishings.
Requirements
- Typically, 0 - 2 years interiors experience (i.e., installing / finishing upholstery, aircraft interiors, and / or interior fixtures etc.)
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Basic PC skills
- Ability to Inspect all interior components / related fixtures.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status.
- Planning and organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings
- Ability to train other employees
- Knowledge of aircraft interior repairs
- Knowledge of sewing/upholstery repairs
- Knowledge of time estimating
- Ability to develop new processes to reduce man-hours / material waste
- “A” Certification or Repairman certificate
Responsibilities
- Comply with environmental health / safety policies / procedures.
- Perform work in a safe and timely manner.
- Perform and document work performed according to the appropriate manuals and regulations required.
- Perform mechanical / electrical removals and installations.
- Perform inspection of identify parts needed and order the parts.
- Perform assigned duties as assigned.
- May assist with maintenance / open close activity.
- Clean aircraft and components as required.
- Assist in Continuous improvement initiatives.
