About The Position

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our dynamic team in Greater Boston. This part-time position is ideal for a mature individual, possibly semi-retired, who is looking for a flexible work schedule. The role involves collaborating with clients to understand their design needs, developing design concepts, and executing projects from inception to completion, all while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, Rhinoceros 3D, 3ds Max, and Revit.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage timelines and budgets effectively.
• Knowledge of lighting design principles and how they impact interior spaces.
• Excellent drafting skills with attention to detail in creating technical drawings.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
• A portfolio showcasing previous work that demonstrates creativity and technical proficiency is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to determine their design preferences, requirements, and budget constraints.
• Create detailed design plans using CAD software, 3ds Max, and Revit to visualize concepts.
• Develop mood boards and color palettes that reflect the client's vision while applying principles of color theory.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and contract documents for project implementation.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
• Conduct site visits to assess progress and ensure that designs are executed as planned.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other professionals involved in the project to ensure seamless execution.
• Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to provide innovative design solutions.
• Design lighting plans that enhance the functionality and ambiance of spaces.
