About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Interior Designer with 5+ years of professional experience to join Mithun. As a member of our Interior Design team, you will play a key role in creating intentional and memorable experiences that connect people to place. Working in an interdisciplinary environment, you will help anticipate and address the complex challenges of the future. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of project typologies, including creative workplace and hospitality spaces, cultural and educational environments, and urban multi-family, affordable, and student housing. You will engage in all phases of the design process—from concept development through construction administration—while gaining valuable experience in a highly collaborative and creative setting. We currently collaborate in the office Monday through Thursday. Fridays can be in-office or WFH for most roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field.
  • 5+ years of post-graduate professional experience in interior design for commercial spaces.
  • Strong ability to create design renderings and compelling design presentations.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Experience mentoring and supporting junior team members.
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability, with an understanding of sustainable design concepts and their application.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of market design trends.
  • Comfortable and effective working within remote and hybrid team environments.
  • Proficiency in Revit and the Adobe Creative Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • NCIDQ, LEED, WELL or Fitwel accreditation.
  • Previous experience with workplace, educational or housing-related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Practice a concept-based approach to interior design.
  • Collaborate with multiple disciplines throughout the design process.
  • Contribute to our mission, Design for Positive Change, through sustainable design solutions and JEDI initiatives.
  • Act as a primary design interface with clients and consultants.
  • Produce concept imagery, diagrams and sketches, space plans, furniture plans, elevations, conceptual and finished design presentation documentation.
  • Select interior finishes, furniture and equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting.
  • Coordinate with project teams to meet schedules and budgets and track project hours daily.
