About The Position

Exp Federal delivers full-service Architecture & Engineering services, construction, and facility management services throughout the world. Exp Federal's mission is to provide superior technical solutions to the U.S. federal government utilizing skilled personnel familiar with working throughout the United States and overseas. The Challenge: We are seeking an Interior Designer to join our growing design team in our Chicago, IL or Washington D.C. (Chantilly, VA) office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design from an accredited university
  • 3-5 years of design experience, with demonstrated ability for space planning.
  • Proficient using Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Construction Documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Some domestic travel may be required, ability to travel internationally is preferred.
  • Experience with facilities for clients in the Federal Government sector is highly desirable.

Nice To Haves

  • NCIDQ Certification is a plus and preferred.
  • Experience using SketchUp, Enscape and Photoshop preferred.
  • Strong design and graphic illustration skills preferred.
  • LEED Green Associate: preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules in CAD software.
  • Prepare quality presentations utilizing SketchUp, Enscape, Photoshop and other similar software.
  • Prepare construction documents in coordination with multi-discipline project team.
  • Select structural interior design materials and finishes based on project requirements.
  • Select GSA approved furniture, fixtures & equipment to support function of project.
  • Prepare color boards for client review.
  • Manage physical samples.
