We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital part in bringing design concepts to life, supporting the full project lifecycle from initial mood boards to the final walkthrough. You will work under the direct supervision of our Design Lead, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Interior Design program or equivalent professional experience or certification.
  • An understanding of color theory, scale, and spatial arrangement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both internal collaboration and stakeholder interaction.
  • Basic computer skills, including touch-typing at a speed of 30 WPM at least, email, and proficiency with company-specific systems including: Core, Pipedrive, Slack, TSheets, etc.
  • Have basic math skills with applications of electrical formulas.
  • Good decision making skills
  • Strong people skills.
  • Ability to drive company vehicles and/or use personal vehicles on company business.
  • Must possess the skills and knowledge required to perform work in accordance with the MIT Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Excellent phone skills.
  • Availability to travel at least twice a year.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Design Lead in developing mood boards, floor plans and renderings.
  • Research and select furniture, lighting, textiles, and finishes that align with project budgets and aesthetics.
  • Prepare specification sheets and maintain organized project folders, ensuring all technical drawings are accurate.
  • Communicate with showrooms and contractors to track orders, request quotes, and coordinate deliveries.
  • Attend site measurements and installations, documenting progress through notes and photography.
  • Help curate physical material boards and digital presentations for client meetings.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintain inbox 0 and keep up with CRM activities.
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing their knowledge and skills with team members.
  • Work both effectively in a team and independently.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly team meetings.
