About The Position

Bring your passion for design to HGA and collaborate with a talented, multidisciplinary team that’s shaping inspiring environments. We’re seeking an innovative and energetic Interior Designer to join our growing Santa Monica team. In this role, you’ll be an essential contributor to both architectural and interior design efforts—engaging in the creative process and supporting projects from kickoff through construction administration. You’ll help gather project requirements, assist in planning and documentation, and carry out technical aspects of the design. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Interior Design / Interior Architecture program.
  • 3 to 4 years of interior design experience.
  • On the path or in possession of professional licensure and/or certification.
  • Knowledge of: interior design concepts, materials, and furnishing requirements – including concepts, practices, standards and principles; applicable codes (city, state, federal); and finish materials, FF&E selection and specification, interior design components for millwork / casework and construction detailing.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Strong 2D and 3D graphic skills essential.
  • Fluent knowledge of adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • develop design presentation materials and supporting graphics, including renderings
  • support team on visioning, design, programming and space planning to assess client and project needs
  • participate in data gathering, visioning and project implementation
  • create space plan layouts
  • research materials and concepts to support design team on influencing interior design concept development
  • develop concepts into detailed construction drawings and work with larger team to produce construction documentation and materials specifications
  • select and specify furniture
  • collaborating and directing the work of furniture vendor partners
  • support construction administration with RFI response and submittal reviews
  • present team with appropriate finish and material selections, furniture options and layouts and overall design that supports aesthetic goals, budget and functionality of the project including code requirements
  • engage on several projects simultaneously and prioritize appropriately in a fast-paced environment
