About The Position

The Interior Designer with FF&E Experience at BIG NYC will play a crucial role in shaping innovative and inspiring hospitality projects. This position focuses on combining functionality with bold design narratives, overseeing the process from concept development through execution. The designer will engage in space planning, FF&E selections, and collaboration with consultants and clients to deliver exceptional projects.

Requirements

  • Professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • 4+ years of post-graduate experience as an Interior Designer or Architect, ideally in Hospitality and high-end residential
  • Commercial and residential project experience; hospitality, educational, and cultural experience is a plus
  • Knowledgeable in materials, millwork design, furniture, and FF&E specifications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, V-Ray, Rhino, and Adobe Suite skills (Revit is a major plus)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and self-manage time
  • Experience with built and published projects is highly valued
  • Knowledge of industry practices, local codes, and construction details
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • AIA/NCIDQ licensure and/or LEED certification are assets

  • Familiarity with sustainable design practices
  • Ability to mentor junior designers

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on and contribute to all project phases
  • Assist with the creation of interior design concepts, including FF&E specifications
  • Develop detailed design documentation in response to direction from Leadership using advanced 3D modeling tools
  • Present interior design concepts, strategies, and progress
  • Engage with clients and present design direction
  • Work closely with design teams, Project Managers, and Partners
  • Prepare and edit drawings as they relate to projects
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders and/or clients
