About the position

The Interior Designer (Technical) position at Laura Fox Interior Design, LLC is a full-time contract role focused on delivering high-quality interior design solutions in a fast-paced environment. The designer will work closely with the Principal and other team members to manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with clients, vendors, and subcontractors. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Principal or work individually on project tasks as instructed.
  • Help with office management, including leading and delegating responsibilities.
  • Attend project meetings to ensure understanding of project scope and responsibilities.
  • Bring fresh ideas regarding design and team building.
  • Understand and manage proposals, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Assist with new client calls and inquiries.
  • Source materials from wholesale vendors while adhering to budgets.
  • Conduct space planning and create architectural details.
  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, and various professionals.
  • Obtain pricing and quotes based on project specifications.
  • Ensure accurate placement and tracking of all orders necessary for projects.
  • Develop design documents including presentations and proposals.
  • Coordinate installation of furniture and related items.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Contribute to a tidy and collaborative in-office environment.
  • Handle projects from concept to completion with minimal direction.
  • Attend events and seminars for continued education and networking.
  • Work with Principal to continue client outreach and find new business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years design experience.
  • Proficient in CAD, Sketchup, and/or Revit.
  • Proficient in Ivy or similar design project management software.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to visit job sites with potential exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently.
  • Ability to manage different personality types.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. or more as required.
  • Exemplary people skills and ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Excellent research and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • NCIDQ or NKBA Certification is preferred.
