About The Position

As an Interior Designer III at HED, you bring strong design thinking and technical expertise to complex projects, with increasing leadership and autonomy. In this role, you collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design integrated interior environments that align with client goals and HED's vision for excellence. You are trusted to drive parts of the design process, mentor junior staff, and contribute to both innovation and quality across the studio. Your insight supports the evolution of design solutions that respond to performance, context, and user needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in interior design, Interior Architecture, or a related field from a CIDA-accredited program.
  • Minimum 4 years of professional interior design experience across a range of project types and phases.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with visualization tools such as Enscape, Rhino, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage portions of a project independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of building systems, code requirements, interior materials, and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead interior design solutions from concept through construction documentation for mid-to-large scale projects.
  • Interpret project narratives into thoughtful design strategies, coordinating spatial layout, FF&E, finish palettes, and experiential elements.
  • Lead consultant coordination, product research, and specification processes aligned with design intent and performance goals.
  • Prepare and review construction documentation, ensuring alignment with internal standards, code compliance, and client expectations.
  • Participate in and often lead design presentations, client meetings, and internal reviews.
  • Guide and mentor junior designers, delegating tasks and providing oversight to support their professional growth.
  • Contribute to quality control, peer review processes, and integration with other disciplines.
  • Support sustainability goals and assist in integrating WELL, LEED, or other certification requirements when applicable.
  • Champion HED's culture of design excellence, collaboration, and curiosity.
